LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an international green building certification system that identifies buildings with energy efficiency and environmental features. It is important to comply with this system when designing a data center or managing an existing data center.
U.S.A. in 2000. It was developed by the Green Building Council (USGBC). It provides guidance on the design, construction, operational work and maintenance of practical, scalable and viable “green” buildings.
There is a scoring system that evaluates the environmental characteristics of buildings. This system is based on the following parameters:
- Energy-saving
- Reducing carbon dioxide emissions
- Improving indoor air quality
- Using clean energy sources
- Using recycled materials
- Awareness and education
